Aspire Revvo
« on: January 17, 2018, 12:13:41 PM »
Might as well jump in with both feet...

I got the new Revvo tank from Aspire last week.
So far it's been pretty amazing, actually - Huge thick clouds consistently from 50w all the way up to 90w. Coil is rated 50-100w and most reviewers reckon 85w is the perect point.

It has the new stovetop style coils, basically a notch-coil pattern cut into a disc instead of a cylinder. The destructions say to turn the tank upside down for 2 minutes to soak in a new coil, but I found that just gushed juice everywhere, so my next one will be just the usual priming I'd use on an RDA...

The fill mechanism is very cool - Unicorn bottle straight down the drip tip, no need to remove, slide or flip anything open. You fill down a sprung funnel-topped stem down the centre of the chimney, which opens a valve in the base of the tank and fills it from there. Release to close the valve and the bottle sucks up the loose juice!

Airflow comes in the side and down the gap of the double-skinned  top cap, where it runs along the top of the coil and up the chimney on the outside of that funnel stem, which also acts like a spitback guard. Airflow is adjustable and has a stopper.

The coil sits on top of the 2ml tank, held in place by a screwed down cone which sits around the funnel stem and adds a secondary spitback guard. You have cotton underneath the coil and you keep it wet just by tilting the tank, which most people do naturally as they vape.

You get a spare tank, O-rings, second coil and a vape-band with built in dust cap for the tip, which is nice to see.

Pretty genius all round, IMO and performs exceedingly well!

Vandy Vape do the Maze "RDA" with the same coils, but it's mostly a squonker design so doesn't have the fancy fill mechanism... and it's not rebuildable either, so not much of an RDA, really.

I prefer the Aspire one.
Spare coils are £7 for 3, as well, which is quite purse-friendly!

Sounds like you're enjoying it Sarri

I must admit, I've been toying with the idea of getting one myself.
Shame its only 2 ml though  :(

I'm surprised the replacement coils are pretty reasonably priced  Thanks for the share!

I was tempted, but with it being just a re-hash of a notch coil that kind of put me off.

Yeah, it's a REAL juice drinker. I got a 60ml of my current main juice... it ran out five days later!

I was tempted, but with it being just a re-hash of a notch coil that kind of put me off.
In the way they make it, maybe... But that's it.
There is no rewicking or even touching the thing, so no bending the arms (because there aren't any) or knackering the notches. Also, it's an Aspire product not Wismec, so different standards perhaps.
Definitely worth a try, I think.

Just a quick update - I've had this 2 or 3 weeks now and am finding the coils last about a week of heavy use with sweet liquids.
Not had a single problem that wasn't of my own making, mainly just overfilling when not paying attention!

Good to hear, but personally I don't want to go back to buying coils again now I've taken the DIY route.

Sounds great for those that fancy trying one though

I bought the kit mostly for the Skystar mod, cos I just liked the look of it, the Revvo tank was/is just an interesting try out for me.

I'm pretty sure that with a little fiddling about the wick could be replaced and the coil dry burnt so I'll probably give that a try at some point.
I definitely do like the no fuss refill system though
